Pleasant retreat from Times Square Bustle
8.0We are avid theatre-goers, and we stay in Times Square most of the time when visiting NYC. The edition is sometimes quite expensive, but the weekend in August was a good price, so booked. The rooms are small, but very clean and modern. The hotel itself is a little off Times Square, so it is perfect for access to all the Broadway shows, but you don’t have to fight too many folks once you turn off the main drag. You also get free tickets to the MOMA. We took advantage of this perk, as well as the food and beverage credit at the bar (a great place for a post show drink or snack.) Also, the hotel smells wonderful, so it is a welcome aroma after a sometimes hot and smelly day walking the city.
rude unfriendly desk staff
4.0stay clear of this hotel arrived late Saturday with a very unworn welcome to be told they were going to take $1400 off my credit card as a holding but it will not go out my bank two days later it had cleared and gone out of my account when approached the unapproachable desk staff they said this happens every few months it’s a glitch in the system and when you check out it will be refunded very unprofessional and unacceptable. This was reimbursed four days after I got home to the UK but the exchange rate had changed and I was £11 English money down. How many customers are they doing this too? And how often they told me it happens every few months to whoever staying at the hotel at the time making good money aren’t they for nothing five star hotel with two star qualities black doll dingy two lifts to get to your room un friendly staff don’t even supply courtesy and coffee dreadful smell throughout the whole hotel the entire state so much so you could even smell it approaching the hotel on the street. We only booked this hotel because it had a rooftop bar which unfortunately we were then told unless we were eating we couldn’t use it. The doorman was the only friendly thing about this hotel always spoke and went out of their way like you down taxis with all money they are ripping off the customers. They need to send their desk staff on courses on how to approach customers and be friendly. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
Edition Times Square, New York – 5/5
10.0An excellent stay and a great option for both business and leisure in Midtown Manhattan. The location is hard to beat, with Times Square, Bryant Park, Broadway, and multiple subway lines all within easy walking distance. Although the room was fairly compact, it was modern, spotless, and very well designed. stayed on the 37th floor, and despite being in the heart of Times Square, the room was impressively quiet. Combined with a very comfortable bed, it made for an excellent night’s sleep. Check-in and check-out were both quick and efficient, and the staff—including the bell team—were professional and welcoming throughout our stay. We were also grateful to be offered an early check-in after arriving in the city. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which made working from the hotel easy. Breakfast was good, and while it wasn’t included, the nightly hotel credit helped offset the cost. Overall, this is a stylish, well-run hotel in an unbeatable location. The combination of excellent service, quiet rooms, reliable internet, and comfortable accommodation makes it a great choice for anyone visiting New York.
Disappointed
4.0Lovely room and hostess was charming and polite BUT not withstanding the fact that we booked this more than a month in advance to celebrate my husband‘s birthday, and we specifically asked on the reservation for a birthday candle and cake, and that the hostess was reminded as we checked in, and that I left during the meal to remind the hostess again (who assured me that the server was aware) and at the end of the meal when I went out and spoke to them again, we never received a birthday dessert or candle. They brought us the check to leave. When I went to speak to the manager, all he could do was say “sorry“. I am sure that there was nothing he could do given the fact that we had paid already but, we did remind them three times and they said it was noted on our reservation. It was profoundly disappointing because it was supposed to be a special birthday lunch.
Great staff but the room left a lot to be desired
8.0Good location if you Plan to see broadway shows. We were so disappointed with the room which was supposed to be deluxe. It was tiny and not enough space for multiple people or luggage. The bathroom was again, very small and didn’t have a shower door with lots of water all over! The room service menu (New York prices) was lackluster and not a great option. The best part of our stay was the staff. Multiple members were very friendly, helpful, etc.
Fantastic customer service and guest relations when in a pinch
10.0I was booked to stay this week at the Edition Times Square and I accidentally booked the wrong dates for my business trip but I didn't realize this until I landed in NYC and was in the car to the hotel. I called the hotel somewhat frantic and reached a human on the first ring, and when I asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred within one minute. Talia was the Guest Relations Manager with whom I spoke and she was incredibly helpful in helping resolve my issue, quickly, and with grace. As a Bonvoy Titanium member, I have to give the highest marks for customer service on this matter. I plan to stay at The Times Square Edition on my next visit to NYC. Thank you Talia and team!
