Extremely disappointing and stressful stay.
3.0The hotel has some genuinely positive aspects. The location is very good for exploring Rome, and the breakfast was excellent, with a good and varied selection of food.
− Unfortunately, the negative experience completely overshadowed these positives. We are extremely disappointed, especially considering the standard we expected from this hotel. The main problems were: Extremely loud bathroom ventilation, making it almost impossible to sleep. No proper control of the ventilation or room temperature. On the first night, reception’s “solution” was to switch off the electricity to our entire room. On the second night, the ventilation/AC was switched off instead, leaving the room extremely hot and stuffy. A blocked shower drain in the first room. After two nights and several complaints, we were finally moved to another room. In the second room, we had to wait around three minutes for hot water. Poor communication between reception staff – every time the shift changed, we had to explain the entire problem again from the beginning. Some members of the reception staff were unprofessional, and despite repeated complaints, the problem was not handled with the urgency we expected. Technical problems can happen anywhere, but the way they were handled was unacceptable. We spent a significant part of our short holiday dealing with problems that should have been resolved immediately. The lack of sleep, constant complaints and frustration seriously affected our vacation. We came to Rome to enjoy our holiday, not to spend our time dealing with room problems and repeatedly explaining the same situation to reception. Despite the good location and breakfast, we left the hotel extremely disappointed.
