I would say this hotel is lovely and the staff are nice. We enjoyed the hotel itself and the staff were generally nice.

− We had a couple of problems during our stay which would probably make us think twice about staying here again. 1. On arrival, we were given a completely different room to the Family Suite we had booked. We had booked months in advance and specifically chose this room because we were travelling with our little one and wanted the additional space. When we raised this with reception, we were initially made to feel as though we simply didn't like the room, or that it was of the same calibre as the room we had booked. To note, even the hotel's own internal booking system showed that we had been allocated a different room type. Thankfully, this was sorted the following day and we were moved to a Family Suite which is what we had actually booked. However, we have received no refund or compensation for the first night, despite being given a completely different room to the one we had paid for. 2. Late checkout seems to be a game of luck. On four separate occasions between booking our stay and check out from the hotel, I requested for late checkout as we had a late flight out of Madeira. We were never offered the late checkout we needed, not even at a surcharge, which we would have been happy to pay. This was particularly problematic as we have a one year old, meaning we ended up having to spend several hours waiting around the hotel, including having our child nap in reception, looking for toilets for nappy changes, and final showers before departure etc. It made the final few hours of our holiday unnecessarily stressful. Given our experience, I would say the hotel appears to have an overcapacity problem, as even the luggage storage area was completely full at checkout. The cherry on the cake was getting stuck in the lift in our block the morning we were leaving and later on the lift not working at checkout time, so we had to move our bags via the stairs. Fun! Overall, these issues made the stay more stressful than it needed to be.

Belle diversité des repas au buffet et de bonne qualité. Parking disponible ! L'emplacement pour visiter l'ile. La vue de l'océan. De la place sur les transats toute la journée. Le spa. Le choix des 2 autres restaurants avec personnel charmant.

− Que la petite piscine intérieure soit interdite aux enfants ou au moins de sauter ou de jouer au ballon. Du coup, inutilisable. Pareil pour la piscine extérieure avec les jeux de ballons (adultes ou enfants) qui empêche de pouvoir profiter pleinement du lieu ou nager sans se ramasser une balle dans la tête. Dans les restaurants autres, avoir la carte du menu en français... Que le paiement des PR de randonnées soient disponibles à l'accueil de l’hôtel et pas seulement en ligne. Et c'est n'importe quoi cette réservation en ligne avec horaire de passage. Mais c'est pas lié à l'hôtel ;-)

Overall our stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed it very much!

The room was a good size and well maintained with one exception, there was some sort of an issue with the door as it was a bit difficult to close it as it was dragging a little bit on the floor.

− Maybe there could have been a bit more variety regarding the deserts.
